Romans 12:14 Continue to speak well even if someone wants to take advantage of you; bless and do not blame when you feel exploited.
I have been on a job for the last 2 months and there was a couple times I wanted to just walk away. Why? Because I they were taking advantage of me. My good nature my wanting to help people. It has been a very difficult job. They were taking advantage of me and I let it happen. I think that’s what upsets me the most. I could see what they were doing and I was letting it happen. With this particular client there is history I was just there third employee in the early 80s so I have known them for a very long time.
One of the most difficult things about this job is that I have been blamed for how long it is taking to get finished. Yet they’re the ones who kept making the changes to prolong the job.
One thing that I discovered is that I changed who I was as a contractor. Instead of staying true to who I am.
This is just what goes on in real life. We have instances or circumstances where we go back to the old man and old behaviors instead of staying true to Who We Are in Christ.
It was this morning where I learned one of the lessons from this job. Do not let outside circumstances dictate to me who I am in Christ. Be firm and true to myself and have boundaries.
In school, you’re taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you’re given a test that teaches you a lesson. Tom Bodett
I feel this quote from Tom pretty well sums it up.
