After I posted yesterday I had somebody who I love very much sent me a scripture reference with a question. My first thought was when I read the question was this.
Jesus said on the cross forgive them Father for they know not what they do. Even though that didn’t have anything to do with the scripture that he sent me it has everything to do with how I was thinking.
Matthew 5:10-11 (ESV) 10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
This morning I got to thinking about the other thing that Jesus said on the cross. He said “it is finished.”
John 19:30 (ESV) 30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
