Acts 10:28 And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean.
It may be difficult to see people the way Jesus does. Perhaps it is so hard because it starts with us first. If you can’t see yourself the way God sees you, how will you see others as God sees them?
2 Corinthians 5:16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer.
When you begin to see yourself the way God sees you. I believe you will start seeing people the way God sees them. At that moment I believe that will be the beginning of the end of being judgmental. That will be the end of negativity, hateful and hurtful conversations.
You are loved
2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
This verse is for everyone it’s not selective. When you see your brother in Christ, that person is the righteousness of God.
1 Corinthians 1.30 Of God’s doing are we in Christ. He is both the genesis and genius of our wisdom; a wisdom that reveals how righteous, sanctified and redeemed we already are in him. The mirror translation.
Who do you say I am?
Great point Kee! Unfortunately, the church has created an ‘insiders’ and ‘outsiders’ mindset and the notion of ‘holiness’ gets used as one of the many qualifiers to do so. Also, people have misinterpreted a lot of Christ’s words or the Apostles’ words in the Bible to reinforce these beliefs and they get taken out of the original context. As you say, when we see Him, ourselves and others in the only reality He intended (e.g. love, acceptance, grace, unity, faith, mercy, and much more), ultimately we are ‘IN’ Him and because He is holy, then we are. That’s what the verse ‘be ye holy for I am holy’ really means… in my personal opinion.
