Be kind

Colossians 4:5 walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

When I read this this morning my first thought was this. Who will I encounter today? This encounter might give me a chance to be gracious. It could be an opportunity to show the love of Jesus. It’s almost like be ready.

I think Colossians 4:5-6 pairs very nicely with 1st Peter 3:15

1 Peter 3:15-16 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

I believe it would be very difficult to be able to give a reason for the hope that you have if your conversation isn’t already seasoned with salt.

I also think this could be speaking on how you talk to yourself. Are you having negative self talk about a situation that you are in?

Today not only be kind to your fellow man and love your brother. But be kind to yourself. Getting all twisted up about your own behavior will infect everything else around you

Be Jesus with skin on.

You are loved.❤️❤️
