Jesus already knows

I felt the other morning during my meditation that Holy Spirit was shining a light on my prayer life.  Jesus knows what you want before you pray.

Matthew 6-8 do not be like them, where your father knows what you need before you ask him.

I have noticed that I have literally taken this passage out of context. What’s the point of really praying when he already knows? Prayers are about me changing not getting answers.  Possibly aligning my heart with his.

Need to dig in and reevaluate my prayer life not from a religious standpoint but from a relationship standpoint.

I believe that seeking first the Kingdom of God is the answer. That is what I felt like I was hearing. And then this quote came back to me from Bob Hamp. He says in Prisoner Thinking “what I seek first organizes everything else in my life. This will in turn become the dominant force in your life.

Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not beating myself up,  this is new revelation. It’s the frog in the water that starts boiling. This crept up on me and I didn’t even see it.

If nothing changes, then nothing changes.

My blog is titled Matthew 6.6 but when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your father who is in secret. And your father who sees in secret will reward you.

Maybe I should pay attention to that passage a little more.😊😊

  1. This is good. I got this while reading from the HS, “ Sid, Prayer is communion. You don’t need the juice and the bread. They are just symbols of what takes place”
