The rooster will Crow but you must trust me

I have always wondered how the translators decide where or why they want to number the scriptures and apply chapters.

Let’s look at the end of chapter 13 and the beginning of chapter 14. I have always read them separate. When you read them together for me it has different meaning. I’ve never looked at verse 1 in chapter 14 applying to the last verse in chapter 13.

Even though Peter is going to deny Jesus three times,  Jesus tells him “let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me.”

I’m going to have to start in my Bible reading to omit the verse numbers and chapter numbers and just read.

John 13:38 (ESV) 38 Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, the rooster will not crow till you have denied me three times.   I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.

When you read John 13:38 and then follow it up with John 14:1 and applied to your life. Great things will happen I believe
