Time spent in his presence

Psalms 27:4 (ESV) 4 One thing have I asked of the LORD,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to inquire in his temple.

Time spent in his presence is never wasted time. Even if you don’t hear anything or feel anything.

I went to a Men’s Conference last weekend and one of the speakers was John Crowder. Absolutely blew me away he talked about contemplation.

Contemplation is not meditation. Contemplation is just sitting in his presence, not going over scripture, not praying just being still and just let your mind go places. Not trying to solve anything just sitting in his presence.

I’ve been averaging 20 to 45 minutes a morning. Incredible

Psalms 16:11 (ESV) 11 You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

This week I have purposed myself when I get up in the morning to not do meditation but to contemplate. Which means I do not even turn my phone on I get up. Sit in my chair and contemplate. Sit in his presence this is probably the first time in 3.7 years that I don’t get up and look at my phone first.  Also working on not looking at my phone at all at night either. Before I go to bed at least 30 minutes.

Something that I have noticed is that I have a lot of peace when it’s over every morning. Nothing has happened I’m not getting any great Revelations but what I am getting is peace. There’s something about starting your day off in peace. Not trying to figure stuff out not trying to read scriptures and get revelation. But just sitting in his presence.

I have noticed that I would have thoughts pop up and then I would refocus on my breathing or I would just say the word Jesus and I would just kind of go blank and then a new thought would come. I would just let it go and be silent and then another thought. Very interesting

I have included a link to his playlist. All I can say is that it’s really good. I’m grateful to have learned about this.

Psalms 46:10 (ESV) 10 “Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
