Matthew 5:8 (ESV) 8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Matthew 5:8 (AMP) 8 “Blessed [anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature] are the pure in heart [those with integrity, moral courage, and godly character], for they will see God.
You are pure in heart!
Your behavior does not dictate the truth of Who You Are. You were made in His image.
2 Corinthians 10.8 There is nothing superior in my confidence in who I am! God’s gift to you wrapped up in me is not to intimidate you but to edify you! The Mirror
You are self-control!
2nd Timothy 1.7 Become fully acquainted with his gift in you, there is nothing timid about it; the dynamic of a 1mind liberated in the spirit of love is fearless and unstoppable. (The word 1sophronismos means a saved mind, a mind saved from tolerating inferior thoughts. Isa 55:8-11)
I am pure of heart I am self control I am Jesus with skin on
Love well
Thank you for your post. I have changed my thinking on the Beatitudes in the last few years. I used to see them as a qualifying list. If you are this then you get that. But now I see them as a beautiful inclusion. Basically says “wherever you are in life, you are included in my plan. I have something for you”
You referenced that blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. I used to think if I wasn’t pure, I wouldn’t get to heaven to see God. But that isn’t it at all. It’s stating that when my heart is pure, I will see who God is and understand him. I will “see” God in all of creating because my pure heart is not approaching god with an agenda and my pure heart doesn’t have religious pretension.
