Ephesians 4:32 (ESV) 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
When you have unforgiveness towards someone It really affects the heart. It creates a un natural lense that you begin to see your life through and also the way you see other people.
What I understand now is that it actually violates our conscience, rendering us incapable of receiving from God. In other words, if you’re having a problem loving someone, then it makes it hard for you to receive love from God.
What it doesn’t mean is that you’ve been separated from God. That doesn’t happen.
Matthew 6:22-24 (AMP) 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body; so if your eye is clear [spiritually perceptive], your whole body will be full of light [benefiting from God’s precepts]. 23 But if your eye is bad [spiritually blind], your whole body will be full of darkness [devoid of God’s precepts]. So if the [very] light inside you [your inner self, your heart, your conscience] is darkness, how great and terrible is that darkness!
