Faith and my grandson

Matthew 18:3-4 (ESV) 3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

When we built our house we also transplanted 29 trees around it. During our lovely heatwave, We have lost 2 trees for sure and 3 more, I’m not sure about.

We have had our four-year-old grandson for the last week.  Kelly  Has been teaching him how to speak life into the trees. When Kelly and Amaré  Go outside they speak life to the trees.

Yesterday, He picked up a limb That was cut off from the actual tree itself And spoke life to it.. Kelly said that wont-work because it’s not connected to the tree anymore. He doesn’t care he sees a limb that needs to live and he asked God to make it grow. That is his faith so simple and so pure.

I sometimes wonder  myself why my faith is not that simple.   I have not one time spoken life into my trees. I can honestly say that I felt like it would be a waste of time . I see what’s happening to them It’s inevitable. What a crappy attitude to have.

The conversation that Kelly and Amaré had made me think of John chapter 15 and the vine as well as having faith like a child

John 15:4-5 (ESV) 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

New wine

Apart from me you can do nothing.”
