How many times have you said that? Somebody says something positive to you or has a word for you. Then you say “I receive that, thank you.”
James 1:6-7 (ESV) 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
Receive in the Greek means
4. to take to one’s self, lay hold upon, take possession of, i.e. to appropriate to one’s self.
I believe this man at the pool received. Not only did he receive that day but he continued to receive. I think many times we receive a word and then we tuck it away and don’t think about it again.
