This book that I am reading called
“Unwanted”
I believe is one of the deepest most accurate books on explaining why men tend to lean on pornography.
Futility

Rather than fighting lust or shame, let your sexual Brokenness motivate you to find greater meaning in life. If you want to fight don’t fight to eliminate desire; fight to discover meaning
Futility is never content with ruining one aspect of someone’s life it wants to reproduce and infiltrate every aspect of your life. Pornography says bring me your weary and defeated heart, and I will give you a world where it will all go away. In the end porn confiscate not only your purpose but also your heart.
What does Jesus say? About that lie?
Matthew 11:28 through 30 come to me, all you who are labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light
Matthew 5 Jesus addresses the nature of sin he basically says anyone who looks at a woman lustfully commits adultery in his heart. We all know this and speak of it quite often as if lust is the driving force. As I read on, I’m beginning to understand that anger is the driving force. Personally for me I have always had some type of underlying anger. For me I have yet to pinpoint where it begins. So I’m digging into this.
Matthew 5:22You’re familiar with the command to the Ancients, do not murder. I’m telling you that anyone who is so much as angry with a brother or sister is guilty of murder, carelessly call a brother idiot and you just might find yourself hauled into court. Thoughtlessly yell stupid at a sister and you are on the brink of Hellfire. The simple moral fact is that words kill.

You know, lust isn’t just about sex. You can lust for virtually anything.

Lust and anger go hand-in-hand
I had been stuck in this chapter 8 all morning. For myself I know that I have anger issues. But I never really realized how much of a driving force the anger really is

Lust gives men the opportunity to escape pain, but eroticized anger demands someone else be used to exact revenge on a situation or person causing their discomfort.
I honestly believe the next time somebody calls me and says I’m really struggling with pornography. I think my question is going to be,
“What are you angry about?
That is the million-dollar question.
The quality of your life depends on the quality of the questions you are willing to ask yourself.
