A chink in my armor

Ephesians 6:16 It is most important to engage your faith as a man-size shield that covers your whole person and empowers you to extinguish the flame in every arrow of contradiction that you might face. The only visible part of you is your spiritual sword. The mirror version.

I have discovered that one of the hardest things that I have to deal with is reacting instead of responding. Through my readings over the last two weeks I have discovered that a lot of my reactions are rooted deeply in the way I was programmed in my mind a long time ago. My reactions literally are bad habits so to speak. My coach and mentor has told me that I need to learn to make the subconscious conscious. This is not an easy task but it starts with listening and not reacting. When someone says “hey I need to tell you something and it has the potential of making you upset” you need to take notice on what’s fixing to be said and prepare your heart.

Well, you have a choice right then.

When this was said to me the other day. I was giving the heads up. I chose to still get upset and I felt like I had no control over my emotions. This is a chink in my armor.

2nd Corinthians 5:17 therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold new things have come NASB

When you take the time to examine yourself. Ask Holy Spirit where is the chink in my armor?
