Matthew 16:20
Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.
This is the last scripture in this part of Matthew where he is talking to Peter about who do you say I am? I have often wondered why he doesn’t want the disciples to tell anyone who he is? I was thinking, maybe it’s because he wants the people to get their own revelation about who he is and not be told who he is.
So many times we try so hard for people to get it. To understand who Jesus is. If we just live as Jesus with skin on with whoever we come in contact with, then we don’t have to tell people who Jesus is because they will ask us. They will say there is something different about you, I want what you have. Then you can tell them.
1st Peter 3:15 but in your hearts Revere Christ as lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asked you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
Many times just living it is the seed that you plant. It’s not your job to water it.
