I opened my Bible this morning the very first thing that I read was 2 Cor. 6:2 God declares that it is his Delight to do you good! …………
Now obviously there’s more to the scripture but this is what spoke to me. He did me good by keeping me home.
I reflect over the last four weeks leading up to quest. I could see how my time in the word was not very good. I was extremely busy with work and was just not taking care of my relationship with the Lord. It’s not something that I did on purpose, but it is something that I let happen. If you stop listening to your spouse or significant other and just start doing things on your own, then that relationship will suffer.
You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth? Galatians 5:7
I can see looking back that I allowed myself to be deceived.
Sunday, I mentioned to two individuals how much I was struggling with not going on Quest.
One individual said one word. “Rest”
The other individual said.
“This event is just an event. The kingdom of God survives just fine without any one of us. You serve well and you serve often. This just wasn’t the time; rest in your identity and in peace.”
I love the fact that God loves me so much that he had two individuals that hadn’t spoken to each other say the same thing to me.
So, this week I literally have nothing to do but rest and then my work fires up again. I’m very busy and it’s a good thing. I just have to remind myself to stay focused on him and not my word or my circumstances
This morning I’ve been reading for a while.
2nd Corinthians 7:11 consider how this very thing that caused you such initial grief has turned your attention to God! It revived an immediate sense of urgency to realize your position and Grace; almost like when your arm is twisted and locked behind your back, and your own efforts to clear or save yourselves were completely neutralized. You were greatly alarmed with an intense desire and burning zeal to re-endorsed the basis of your righteousness. And so in everything you’re blameless innocence is Vindicated. The Mirror by not going on quest my attention has been refocused ands that is a good thing.
Oswald Chambers said that a true disciple learns the meaning of “follow me” in the hour when the dilemma perplexes him. The billows overwhelm him, and the noise of God’s water spouts deafen him.
