Are you focused on me?

Count it all joy when You Face Trials of many kinds that the testing of your faith develops perseverance and perseverance must finish its course, so you may be mature and complete not lacking in anything. James 1.2-4

I struggle with seeing the bigger picture, my work has gotten in the way of my Ministry but is that really true? My work is my Ministry, anything outside of my business Ministry is icing on the cake. I get the opportunity to minister to men and women all the time in the workplace. What I love doing is going on Quest and serving and watching The Miraculous changes of the men.  I’m supposed to leave tomorrow morning to go on Quest and due to circumstances outside of my control. My work is not going to let me go. To go on these events is such a privilege and it’s something that I take very seriously. Evidently though, the Lord has something bigger for me here. I’m just not sure what it is. I may never know what it is. Something I just thought about. In Texas on average every year only 108 men get to go and serve on these incredible events.  That’s not very many. It truly is an honor when I get picked to go and serve.

Deuteronomy 29:29

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

So, does it make me sad? Yes it does. It really bothers me that I don’t get to go. Here’s what the Lord said to me this morning, “If you’re bothered about not going then you’re not focused on me.” That is true in so many other areas of my life.

  1. Good word brother. I battled with that when I thought I was going in May. I was crushed to be left behind. All these Why’s and crushed plans just littered my head. As I dig deeper into what you said…the Holy Spirit was clear and you are right. If I am upset about not going it’s not God I’m chasing. I battled this knowing in my Spirit the truth. I wondered if it was that God found me lacking or not sharp enough a tool yet. All these point to “me”. Then the very next month I went and serving has been one of the hardest and most touching times to minister. To learn what I learned to serve as I served, I can’t describe the blessing. Even as I scrubbed dishes the Holy Spirit filled me with… well, that indescribable completeness that only Holy Spirit can fill. To live is truly to serve, but to serve on Quest is always a step into the Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
