Change needs to be a choice not a reaction
When I read that statement I literally just stared at it. It then dawned on me. Most changes in my life have resulted from reactions to events that happened to me.
Change as a choice Feels Like A New Concept.
When somebody asks you a question and they suggest to you to ask Holy Spirit. There’s a reason for that. We want you to ask Holy Spirit so the answer comes from Holy Spirit. It’s not going to do you any good if it comes from me. It’s the same with change I feel. Making the decision to change on your own is better. It is much better than making the decision to change because something happened in your life. Of course that is my opinion but it makes total sense. Now, there are times when you have to make a change because something has happened in your life. That’s true for all of us.
How many times have you decided to change because of your health? How many times because of your relationships? How many times due to your career or your family? I’m not saying that’s bad but you’re reacting. What if the change came before?
What if you chose to be grateful for something that hasn’t happened yet?
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
