Meditation did not want to forgive!

Over the last week I have been having this memory continually pop up. In 1997 I was in the car business.  I had just come off my best year ever and was also salesman of the year. But on this particular Saturday my boss told me I had to drive 2 hours out of town to go pick up one of my trades from a client on a Saturday. I looked at him and I said, seriously you want to take your best salesman off the floor on the busiest day of the month to go get a trade when you can send a $7 an hour guy to go do that. He just looked at me and said yes.

About 30 minutes later he came into my office leaned over my desk looked me straight in the eye and said listen to me little man when I tell you to do something you do it. Right then I knew I was quitting. I looked at him and said yes sir. That night I backed up my truck to the dealership loaded up my office and left I quit. I’ll show them!

I picked up my toys and went home. I was angry I was hurt. Have never spoken to this man since then but over the last week I just keep hearing you haven’t forgiven him you haven’t forgiven him. Yes I have I did too! Then why do I keep bringing it up to you?

Once again this morning during my meditation that whole confrontation was front and center. And I said okay I’m done I forgive him. And now I have all this peace. You never can win when you butt heads with Holy Spirit.

Listening to week four of Heart physics when I’m looking at the screen and picture how I could have handled that situation differently. It really hurts because I could have handled it differently but my anger got in the way. I never did get back my mojo for selling cars I was only in the business for another year after that. II saw how I could handle it differently.

Today,  after almost 27 years he is Forgiven and I’m going to reach out to him and tell him that I’m sorry for the way that I treated him that day and for the way that I quit.

I just reached out to him and told him I was sorry for the way I treated him. Don’t know if I will hear back but that doesnt matter.

Every time I think I am done a new memory comes up. Thank you Holy Spirit!

The word forgive (ἀφίημι aphiēmi;) in the Greek means many things.  (leave 52, forgive 47, suffer 14, let 8, forsake 6, let alone 6, misc 13)

I John 1.9 Our 1conversation takes on a brand new dynamic when we take sides with what God believes about us. So, instead of telling God about the detail of your sin, you remind yourself about the detail of your redemption. God doesn’t need the information, you do. God’s faithfulness and righteousness is the basis of our 2forgiveness and 3cleansing from every distortion. Jesus removed every bit of condemning evidence against us.

Love well.
