I listened to a teaching about meditation yesterday. I have heard this stuff before but wanted to touch on it again.
When you meditate on the negative, maybe you’re fantasizing about a relationship. Or maybe you’re going over a argument that you’re going to have in the future with your boss. You continue to fantasize, you continue to go over the negativity and before you know it, you now have attached emotion to this negativity and it is becoming real in your mind.
Now it is real.
This is what you need to be doing when you’re meditating with Jesus. This morning as I chose to meditate on Galatians 2:20 I immediately got a visual. I saw myself in front of Jesus on the cross being crucified and at the same time. I saw myself literally dying. I felt my head drop and my chin was resting against my chest. It was finished.
In my mind I proceeded to see myself in the grave. I saw the stone roll away and I rose again.
This was so real.
Galatians 2:20 (ESV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead, conquered death and sin, is at work in me right now.
Meditating with Jesus is sometimes just sitting still and listening, or you picture yourself in the scripture, you visualize yourself walking in Victory. You visualize yourself being the light of the world. That is who you are. Jesus is in YOU, therefore you are the light.
My name is “your name here” and the spirit of the Lord is upon me. I have been anointed to preach the good news. To heal the sick. And to recover sight to the blind.
To help set the captives free
