Matter the most

The things that matter the most must never be at the mercy of the things that matter the least.

So what does matter the most? Have you ever heard of that 80/20 rule?

If you have 10 things to do on any given day and prioritize them from 1 to 10 the top two will give you the greatest return by far. In fact the top two activities will give you an 80% return. If you choose to work on the 80% then you’ll only get a 20% return.

What does that look like? I think the priority would need to be loving people and spending time with the Lord however that looks like for you. It could be praying, reading the Bible, meditating, listening to a message while driving, it’s hard to say. We certainly don’t want to be religious about this there are no boxes to check off.

Jesus lives inside of you so if you miss a day of reading the Bible or you forget to pray the world’s not going to stop turning. Think about this nowhere in the Bible does it say You must read in it every day.

Joshua 1:8 (ESV) 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

A lot of people take this passage that you have to read in your Bible every day. That is religion. What happens if you’re on a desert island Shipwrecked and you don’t have a Bible and you’re all alone. I’m so glad for the comforter.

John 14:16 (ESV) 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,

To be with you forever!
