Just because you get a word of knowledge for someone doesn’t mean you need to say it. There is something that I have learned over the years and it’s called “Hold” in other words just because you get a word from the Lord for someone doesn’t mean you’re supposed to give it to them right then. ( you hold on to that word until it’s time if there ever is a Time.) It might be for you to just pray over for Holy Spirit to reveal truth to this person. You may never deliver that word to someone. That word may be confirmation. When they hear the word from the Lord for themselves, and then they come to you and say “guess what I just heard.” Then you can be confirmation for them.
The right word at the wrong time is a wrong word and can damage someone.
I truly believe many times when we get a word of knowledge for someone. We’re so excited that we heard from the Lord that we want to deliver that word immediately.
When we get a word of knowledge for someone. It does not stop there, though. You have to ask again, Lord, am I supposed to give this word now, or am I supposed to pray on it this? what do you want me to do with this?
We have to be careful because our ego can get puffed up, and we want to deliver this word.
John 12:49-50 (ESV) 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”
to me this means to just hold the word u til it’s the right time and right place or unless the lord tells you otherwise, and being sure to not reveal what you were told to hurt the person
