After watching the clip of The Sermon on the Mount in the Chosen, I decided to actually watch it. I totally forgot that Matthew basically was the tax collector for his parents. He saved his dad from going to jail, but at the same time, he was not allowed to call his dad Abba anymore. To see the pain and anguish in Matthew was hard. Not everyone has been in that position where a loved one has basically said we’re done. But to those that it has happened to, I can relate.
To watch the Brokenness in Matthew when Jesus is given The Sermon on the Mount is heartbreaking, but it’s so good. To watch Jesus’s words. Pierce his ❤️ that is what mercy looks like.
Matthew 5:23 (ESV) 23 So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you 24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
Be blessed
