Stop treating me like a genie. I can be so much more if you would just get out of my way. Let me be so you can be who I created you to be.
Let go of your control.
How many times do you think you try to make things go your own way. When it’s all said and done, you’re actually just getting in the way of what God is trying to do. You end up making things worse.
Matthew 16:23 (ESV) 23 But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”
Hindrance. g4625. σκάνδαλον skandalon; 2. salvation any person or thing by which one is (entrapped) drawn into error or sin.
Peter had his own selfish plans for Jesus, and it blinded him to God’s much bigger, better plan of salvation. I hate the thought that I could be a hindrance to what Jesus is trying to do.
Trust, follow, live, and think like Jesus. Be, Jesus was skin on!
