The other day a lady posted on her Facebook that her Father-in-law had committed suicide.
It was a very sad story one that needed comfort. I replied to her post and I gave her comfort. That is what I have learned to do.
I was not shocked at all When the other responses were about what she needed to do, There was absolutely no comfort given except by me.
We need to remember when somebody tells us a story that involves pain, We need to listen to what they You are saying and then tell them I’m sorry And leave it at that.
The last thing a person in pain needs to hear from you is what they could have done to avoid it.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (ESV) God of All Comfort
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
