I have been mulling over this quote, I have to wonder how many missed opportunities I have had to encourage someone . Not only to encourage them but maybe actually stop for a moment and just listen to them.
The opportunities are endless.. Watch people when you are coming face-to-face with them in a parking lot or grocetie isle. Most of the time they are not going to look at you. Eyes are down or they’re looking some other direction to avoid eye contact until you say something to them.
How about the cashier when you’re checking out. How do you interact with them? Do you just hand them your cash and get out there or do you speak to them and smile. How do you interact with them? I always try to make small talk. But sometimes I’m even too selfish to do that.
