Genesis 16:6 (ESV) 6 But Abram said to Sarai, “Behold, your servant is in your power; do to her as you please.” Then Sarai dealt harshly with her, and she fled from her.
Who in you life is Sarai? Who has hurt you? Who has mistreated you? Who has abused you?
Have you forgiven them?
The next scene, Hagar is on the run heading into the desert or the wilderness. Genesis 16:7 (ESV) 7 The angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur.
This wilderness is usually where there is trauma and death. Hagar is in the desert whereby all accounts she is going to die
Genesis 16:8 (ESV) 8 And he said, “Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from my mistress Sarai.”
There is no condemnation. The Lord asked two very simple questions, where have you come from? And where are you going?
The voice of the Lord Never accuses you or gets frustrated. He just loves you right where you are
God’s presence invites us to create a reflection as to how our unwanted lives became the way they are today
You are invited.
Genesis 16:9 (ESV) 9 The angel of the LORD said to her, “Return to your mistress and submit to her.”
Go in peace.
Amen!
