John 15:3-5 (ESV) 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.
In the Chosen, Mary got triggered And she went back to her old lifestyle . She felt hopeless. She believed the lie that she was not worthy and many other lies I’m sure. Even though Jesus abided in her She made a choice. She felt all was lost. We have all been there. Maybe your there now.
We watched this episode again last night and once again I was moved to tears.
John 15:3-5 (ESV) 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
The scene is in the Chosen season 2 episode 6. Mary comes back and is so full of shame and pain. She comes to Jesus as she is, She doesn’t go to get healing somewhere else then come to Jesus.
You can tell she’s hurting and she’s embarrassed and all she can say is, “I don’t know what to say?”
Jesus says, “I don’t require much” and she says “you redeemed me and I threw it all away.”
I love Jesus’s response. “That’s not much of a redemption if it can be lost in a day is it?”
Mary says I just can’t live up to it and Jesus said “you can’t not now”
There are two parts to forgiveness. When Jesus forgives you and when you can forgive your brother.
Love yourself today and love your brother. Be at peace, let Jesus wrap you up in his arms.
You have received the inheritance. You sit at the right hand of God. You abide in Him and He is in you and you are the righteousness of God in Him.
You can do greater things!
Live the life that God purchased for you.
How do we forgive when it a continuous belittling and disrespect???
