If you took the time and went through the book of Proverbs and looked up every reference to being a fool or foolish would you have any of those traits?
Proverbs 18:2 (AMPC)
2 A [self-confident] fool has no delight in understanding but only in revealing his personal opinions and himself.
When it comes to Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit I don’t want to have my opinion I don’t want to be the fool, I don’t want to repeat stuff that I’ve learned in church that’s not accurate or maybe something I’ve learned from my parents or friends. I do not want to be an opinionated fool. I can say with all certainty though that I struggle at times dying to myself. I make it harder than it really is.
How can I be like Jesus if my opinion differs from his?
A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher Luke 6:40
So when I made the decision to become a disciple that was my first act of repentance. I had to change my mind on how I lived, what I thought about and how I see God. Just about every part of my life had to change. It’s a work in progress every day but the biggest thing that I’ve had to learn is when my opinion is different from God’s opinion that I have to die to my opinion. Dying to self.
Choose the way of the disciple or the way of the world.
Have a Gonfidence day!
