When I think of how many times I’ve heard this phrase “hey the truth will set you free.” I believe it’s taken out of context. I think there’s a little more to it than that you can’t just take parts of scripture and quote it or it can be misleading
Jesus was very clear and this is what he said.
Jn 8:31 — Jn 8:32 (ESV Strong’s)
31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
I think it’s pretty clear you need to abide in him. He makes it pretty easy but it’s still a choice he died for you, he is in you, you are at the right hand of the throne of God, and you have the same inheritance. You are the righteousness of God in him.
What kind of choices have you been making lately?
Believing and experiencing the truth, being a disciple is what will set you free. Choosing him because he already chose you.
I just want to live the life that God purchased for me.
