How do you wait?

Isaiah 40:31
but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

I think over the years and what I’ve learned from other people is that this scripture means we need to wait on the Lord for him to move. When in fact the word “wait” in Hebrew means, to bind together, to entwine, to wrap around God.

The word “renew” in the Hebrew means “exchange” I think this is more about meditating and getting quiet with God and listening to what that small voice is saying.

Psalms 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”

The word “still” means to let go, to be quiet.

I believe instead of waiting for God to move that you get in your quiet place. You don’t have to read scripture you don’t have to pray. Get into your heart zone and listen to that quite voice

Isaiah 30:15 For the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel has said this, “In returning [to Me] and rest you shall be saved, In quietness and confident trust is your strength.” But you were not willing

I know for myself and I’m not speaking for anyone else here, when I enter into that quiet place where I’m at peace. Those times are some of the most powerful times with the Lord I’ve ever experienced. I can also say there are times that I don’t want to enter in that place because I want to hold on to what I know. I don’t want to give it up. Why? Most likely because I think he’s going to show me something about me and maybe I’m not ready to hear it. That process is messed up because whatever he wants to show me, freedom will come from that.
