Why did He go?

I’ve been in this temptation of Jesus for the last couple days and I’ve been asking questions because I’m curious

Matthew 4:1
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Why would the Spirit lead Jesus Into the Wilderness to be tempted? It doesn’t say Holy spirit so what kind of spirit?

Mark 1:12
The Temptation of Jesus
The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness.

Would it be safe to assume that the spirit referenced is the Holy spirit?

Matthew 4:2
And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

The Devil comes to tempt Jesus after 40 days of fasting. Interesting that the devil would come to tempt Jesus after probably an incredible 40 days of seeking God. To me that would seem like the worst time to come approach Jesus. I know in 2009 I fasted for 40 days no food. It was the most absolute incredible spiritual time of my life. During that time the devil could tempt me and I would just look the other way. So I wonder why did the devil pick this specific time?

Matthew 4:5
Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple.

Curious why would Jesus go with him to the holy city? He had a choice. Was it to prove something? For me I don’t want to go anywhere with the Devil? I heard this saying once. If you sit in the barber chair long enough you will eventually get your haircut.

Matthew 4:8
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

Again why would Jesus go with him? Jesus had a choice and he chose to go with the Devil. Was it to speak truth to him? Was it to prove to the devil how strong he was ? The devil already knew who he was . These are questions that I was pondering yesterday.

Luke 4:13
And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time.

I believe if you know who you are and you walk this out daily The temptations will come. But that’s all they are. The temptation, no matter how small or how large will be your choice to fall or stand. Believe that you are created in the likeness and image of God and you have all authority.

Am I allowing in my life that from which Jesus died to deliver me?

Am I missing out on some promise for which Jesus paid by his blood?
