Being self-aware, Who You Are is a big deal. knowing where you are going is a big deal. Nathaniel Braden said “the first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.” If you want to change and grow, then you must know yourself and accept who you are before you can start building
Stephen Covey said, “how different our lives are when we really know what is deeply important to us, and keeping that picture in mind, we manage ourselves each day to be and to know what matters most.”
“Knowing yourself and what you want to do is one of the most important things you’ll ever do in this life.” Maxwell
So what matters most to you? Being aware of that is extremely important. People ask, who are you? And you say I’m a son. but it’s much more deeper than that. It all begins with Sonship and knowing where you are going.
Psychiatrist Carl Jung said “your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”
1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.
This life that we live is all about choices. Good choices, bad choices. What would your day look like if you literally wrote down every choice that you made and then tallied them all up that evening? Think about yesterday for a moment……….
Reflect on every choice that you made yesterday. Not so much as the choice that you made to pull into the 7-Eleven and get something to drink. I’m talking about the bigger choices. Business decisions, personal decisions that will affect the direction that you’re going.
John Maxwell says, “if you want to get from where you are to where you want to be, you have to start by becoming aware of the choices that lead you away from your desired destination. Become very conscious of every choice you make today so you can begin to make smarter choices moving forward. If you become aware of the steps you must take to do what you want to do, take action, and become accountable for following through, you will begin to produce the behavior you desire and you will start getting closer to doing what you want to do.”
Those very steps of taking account of the choices that you make could be the very thing you need to do to get freedom from an area in your life.
What are your choices?
