I heard something the other day the quote really made me think.
It’s impossible to walk with Jesus and not experience pain.
Obviously, this pain is not from Jesus, but when we choose to face our pain while we’re walking with Jesus, He will walk us through it, and there will be freedom. If you don’t choose to deal with your pain, then that in itself can be extremely painful.
Hebrews 12:3 (ESV)
3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.
That pain can take on many forms it can be betrayal it can be unforgiveness it could be a broken leg it could be a disease. Pick your poison.
I also believe that when you are a non-believer, you will have pain, but the difference is you don’t know how to deal with it, and you just bury it so you think you have dealt with it. Of course Believers also will bury it and think they have dealt with it until Jesus shows up and then you have a choice
Psalms 34:18 (ESV) 18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
