Steadfastness no fear

2 Peter 1:5-6
For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,

Virtue in the Greek is translated also as manliness. g0703. ἀρέτη aretē; from the same as 730; properly, manliness (valor), i.e. excellence (intrinsic or attributed): — praise, virtue.

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with manliness, and manliness with knowledge!

What I like even better is what steadfastness is translated as in the Greek g5281. ὑπομονή hypomonē; from 5278; cheerful (or hopeful) endurance, constancy: — enduring, patience, patient continuance (waiting). in the NT the characteristic of a man who is not swerved from his deliberate purpose and his loyalty to faith and piety by even the greatest trials and sufferings

I read this and it makes me want to be so strong in my faith that I am not swerved by anything. not the greatest trial or the worst suffering, but my faith in the resurrection of Jesus is where I get my strength. Satan is defeated. There is no fear, but only faith

I live as a son, and I choose not to let outside circumstances dictate or speak louder to me than who I am in Jesus.

My identity is in Jesus and nothing else.

I have the same inheritance that Jesus does. I sit at the right hand of the Throne of God Like Jesus Does. I am the righteousness of God in him. I don’t fear Satan because he has been defeated.

Satan does not enter into the equation of my life.

I am pretty sure that Jesus doesn’t sit on the throne and wonder when satan is going to attack him so I don’t either.

I take great comfort in the fact that he has been defeated.
