When things go wrong.

When things go wrong, that is when your true character is revealed. The door has been opened to ………….

It is so easy to be Jesus with skin on when life is grand. Everything is going your way. Family is good, work is good, and life is good.

That one thing happens, then you have a choice. That choice is to be Jesus was skin on or to come absolutely uncorked.  this is usually when bitterness and unforgiveness creep in. When that happens, it’s usually those who are closest to you who suffer the most.

There is bravery when admitting that you are not OK. That way, those who are closest to you can love on you instead of being afraid of you.

Mark 11.25 Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him [drop the issue, let it go], so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions and wrongdoings [against Him and others].AMP

What we can learn from Jesus’ parable and the rest of scripture, is that God forgives us and empowers us to forgive others.

But, if we are not actively trying and asking God to help us to forgive others… then, how can we possibly say we’ve been forgiven by God and love Him? (1 John 4:20)

1 John 4:20-21 (ESV) 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Forgiving others is a sign that we’ve been forgiven by God.
And a lack of forgiveness towards others is a sign that we have not experienced God’s forgiveness.
