MNF

So excited about the football game last night.  Then there was the accident on the field.   Damar Hamlin collapses on the field after a normal football hit.  The paramedics had to administer CPR.

It was hard to watch I was grateful that they didn’t keep replaying the Play.

24 years old and had cardiac arrest on the football field. Gut wrenching.  I personally felt totally helpless.   I did what probably most Americans did last night, and I prayed for him.

I think it just goes to show there are no atheist in foxholes. I was grateful to see so many praying.

John 14:27 (ESV) 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

I believe the NFL made the correct decision by  suspending the game. This is so much bigger than the game itself.

Galatians 6:10 (ESV) 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

I have to say I had to really guard my thinking last night. Because I was going down the road thinking there’s only one more week of football before the playoffs, how are they going to get this figured out?? And then I had to tell myself, really? you are worried about the playoffs when there’s a man down on the field.  Honestly I did not stay there very long.

I pray for a complete speedy recovery for this young man.

  1. to me this means that it is more important to focus on the life of damar and anything else about the nfl shouldn’t really matter atm
