You just never know

Psalms 112:7 (ESV) 7 He is not afraid of bad news;
his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD.

Here’s the story of the Chinese farmer

He loses his horse and everybody in the town comes over and says oh that’s a terrible thing and he says well maybe. The next day seven wild horses show up on his farm and the townspeople are like wow that’s a great thing and he says well maybe.

The next day his son takes out one of the wild horses and gets bucked off and breaks his leg and the townspeople are like wow that’s really bad and he goes well maybe. The next day the army recruiter shows up and they’re going house to house to recruit for the war but they won’t take his son because he has a broken leg

How do you know when something bad happens in your life if it’s going to turn out and be a good thing? I think sometimes you might know almost immediately and in other times it might take months or maybe even years

You can’t live in the past. You can’t live in the future. You can only live in today.

John 14:3-7 (ESV) 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
