During my morning meditation where I was visualizing Jesus. The scene from the chosen where Jesus is walking by Matthew’s booth Came to mind.
Jesus calls Matthew and says “Matthew son of Alphaeus ….. follow me.
At first Matthew stopped and says me? Jesus says “yes you.” Immediately I saw myself in Matthew’s booth and Jesus was calling me. I saw myself just Staring at Jesus And not moving and then Jesus walked on without me.
I got to thinking how many times does Jesus walk by my booth and He calls me to follow him and I stay in the booth and don’t go.
How many times has Jesus called you when he passed by your booth You just sit there for whatever reason.
Honestly I don’t think that happens very often but I know it has. I will not be that person that Jesus calls and then stays in the booth. If Matthew had chosen to stay in the booth he would never have Hosted the dinner party that night.
Mark 2:14-17 (ESV) 14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him.
15 And as he reclined at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”
