I am amazed at the power of shame when we as believers do something wrong. We lie or We Believe a lie. We choose to look at something inappropriate. Or we leave important information out of a business deal. Then we are convicted. I have included the link to the 3 minutes scene from The chosen
The scene is in the Chosen season 2 episode 6. Mary comes back and is so full of shame and pain. She comes to Jesus as she is, She doesn’t go to get healing somewhere else then come to Jesus.
You can tell she’s hurting and she’s embarrassed and all she can say is, “I don’t know what to say?”
Jesus says, “I don’t require much” and she says “you redeemed me and I threw it all away.”
I love Jesus’s response. “That’s not much of a redemption if it can be lost in a day is it?”
Mary says I just can’t live up to it and Jesus said “you can’t not now”
This is a very powerful scene on forgiveness. It is reality, it is the world that we live in. We screw up and we believe the lie that we’re not forgiven, but we are.
I’ve watched this scene over and over and it has just broken me I’m literally sitting here in tears.
Hear the words today.
You are forgiven.
Romans 4:7-8 (ESV) 7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
and whose sins are covered;
8 blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”
