The goal should be to always walk in love and that comes straight from a pure heart not from the head. That should be your ultimate transformation goal. God is love and walking in love will get us as close to God more than any other attribute. For me this is a daily work in progress.
If you struggle with walking In Love could it be your experiencing lack in some area of your life? Psalm 23:1 the Lord is my shepherd I shall not lack.
Mat 22:37 — Mat 22:39
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
1 Timothy 1:5
The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
Galatians 5:14
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
1Ti 5:1 — 1Ti 5:2
Instructions for the Church
Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.
Remember when you had a new baby or a brand new puppy. And how there was nothing that that baby or puppy could do that would make you not love them. Last weekend I got to have my 3-month-old granddaughter for 24 hours and the love that I felt for her was incredible and that’s how my daddy in heaven feels about me. That is how I should feel about all people.
God’s love is the ultimate……….. There is a prayer out of Ephesians that I memorized a long time ago that is just incredible and I’m still trying to wrap my brain around it.
Eph 3:14-21
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
I love that prayer/passage in Ephesians. And one of the first verses I ever memorized from the Navigators 2:7 group was: “So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in him, being rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude. Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit based on human tradition, based on the elements of the world, rather than Christ.”
