I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard or I’ve said to myself “just trust your swing”. These would be situations where I really needed to hit a great golf shot. Not that I didn’t need to hit a great golf shot every time I would swing the club, but there would just be certain situations where I needed to play to a level where I literally wasn’t capable of playing, However, in my mind I believed it, but in my heart I did not. Many times during that scenario I would end up hitting a very bad shot. The reason would be because I would resort back to old habits and behaviors. The pressure would get to me.
I was thinking this morning how many times when I am under pressure do I really want to trust God with what’s going on? I think many times when the heat gets turned up I want to resort back to the old man, old behaviors, old thought patterns. Wavering and doubt. Lately though I can say that there has been less wavering and doubting and more meditating and trusting.
Hebrews 11:1
By Faith
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Strongs G5287 the steadfastness of mind, firmness, courage, resolution confidence, firm trust, assurance
This is about persuading the heart and not wavering when the heat gets turned up.
Our lives are directed subconsciously by what we believe in
our heart. We may momentarily rise above or sink beneath our heart beliefs (sense of identity), but it will only be temporary. We always return to what we believe in our heart. This is what the Bible describes as “heart boundaries.” As we expand our heart beliefs to align with God’s promises, we move the boundaries that are limiting our life. Everything about life changes! Dr Richards.
The more you experience your identity in Christ the more your heart becomes persuaded and God’s reality becomes your reality.
Unshakable, unmovable.
