Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart more than anything else, because the source of your life flows from it.
The Lord wants us to walk in love toward one another just as he walks in love towards us, that includes those who have passed away. When I say passed away, I could be referring to a parent or or sibling or a childhood friend. It could be anybody that hurt you and it could have been 20 years ago, 5 years ago or maybe last week.
When I think about all the times in my life where I have walked in unforgiveness, those were very ugly times. What I can tell you is that it absolutely affected my heart. Anything coming out of my mouth came through the filter of unforgiveness. Which is something that I carried in my heart. The one thing that I absolutely know is that when I had unforgiveness it was like putting up a wall between God and myself. And that wall was built out of concrete and steel nothing could penetrate it.
It is so hard to take hold of God’s promises and apply them in your life when you’re hurting or angry. Whatever someone did, it can be minor, it could be major but nevertheless your heart has now been compromised. How long do you choose to stay this way?
It literally is separation from God. It is a cancer that does nothing but spread and the Cure is Jesus and the resurrection. If you could see a x-ray of the cancer eating away at your heart. The valves are being compromised the veins are collapsing. What if you could see that it’s just a matter of time before you die what would you do?
John 20.23 “If you 1forgive someone’s sins, they are 1gone and forgotten. If you don’t 2let go, then you are 2stuck with them.” (1aphiēmi, to let go, to divorce, to leave behind, to forgive; 2krateō to seize. In the context of what has happened on the cross and here emphasized in the previous 3 verses, the basis of true forgiveness is the death and closure that Jesus brought to whatever it was that testified against us; his glorious resurrection and the companionship of Holy Spirit as the very breath of our zoe-life are the essence and authority of our commission which is to announce mankind’s redeemed innocence!)
What did Jesus die for? When you walk in un-forgiveness. I believe that you have gone back to the old Covenant. You are literally saying the resurrection does not apply to you. That is the willful sin that he is referring to in. Hebrews 10.26
What I have been reading over the last couple days in Hebrews 10 has been an absolute revelation. I have changed the way I view the resurrection
Hebrews 10:22
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Stop living in the old Covenant and live the life that Jesus purchased for you.
Just pause for a moment and let the Lord speak to your Heart. Hear the Voice. I love you and you are perfect. My son took that pain, that hurt, so you can live the Abundant Life.
