You’ve heard it said, how can you look at porn on a computer knowing that Jesus is right there with you?
Hebrews 13:5. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
You get in this massive argument with your wife and Jesus is right there with you. The driver cuts you off and you swerve and almost wreck and you’re angry at the driver of the other car. Jesus is there.
You get betrayed by someone very close to you, it’s like a knife through your heart and yet Jesus is right there with you.
You know he’s there. You might even see him but you keep him at arm’s length because of the shame that you’re walking in. Do you relate to what I’m saying? Do you picture the last time you knew Jesus was beside you and yet you pushed him away?
Below is a short testimony from the movie. The heart of a man. The pastor is actually given his testimony and this is part of it. I changed a little bit of it so you could actually read it from your own point of view. Hope that makes sense.
Picture yourself in prison and you’re sitting at the table all alone eating. In comes Jesus wearing prison clothes like you. He walks up and sits down with you and he just stares at you.
You asked him, would you eat another meal with me? He said, “I will eat with you anytime you want, By the way the doors open you can leave anytime you want.”
When I choose to run from him into the darkness. He is with me in that moment.
He’s not angry and his facial expression is fixed on mine, and He is loving me. He wasn’t demanding that I stop! He was demanding that I invite him into that moment to help me understand how I got into that moment and what’s beneath that moment and to help me search for what I’m really searching for.
From the movie The Heart Of Man. A testimony
When I think about this Exchange it takes me to the scripture in Matthew.
Matthew 6:15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
When you’ve been betrayed and your walking in unforgiveness, Jesus is right there beside you in that moment, waiting for you to invite Him into that situation to lead you into some healing.
Jesus is yes and amen.
When I think about this it really got me to thinking about how many times I don’t invite Jesus into the situation I’m walking in. Even though I know he’s beside me I don’t invite him. This little testimony really has enlightened me on what I need to do moving forward.
Peace
