Why pray?

Psalm 107:28-30 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven

How many times do you feel like your prayers fall on deaf ears and then other times you pray and get immediate results.

How about those times that you absolutely are struggling with something. You talk to your friends, you talk to your spouse, you do everything you can, but it never dawned on you to pray?

Last night I woke up about midnight and my stomach was not doing well. I got up I walked around. I tossed and turned. Then I finally had to go and hurl. Not just once but three different times during the next 4 hrs.

It is now 4am and I have not slept a wink.

I’m asking the Lord what is going on???

Seriously I need to get some rest. And then I had this thought why don’t I pray for healing I mean what could it hurt right?

All I said was Lord, I am hurting and I need help please heal me so I can get some sleep. In Jesus name.

That was it. That’s all I said. The next thing I know it’s 7 a.m. and I feel great.

The question that I may never know is why did he choose to heal me last night?

I have been praying for healing in my hands for months. I have discovered that I have pretty bad arthritis in two places on both hands.

I would say that’s not a good thing in my line of work and actuality it’s not a good thing at all! I will continue to pray because I know prayer works.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given to you seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
