The Chosen

In the movie The Chosen the last episode 8. A land owner walks up to Jacob and starts up a conversation about Jacob’s God. He tells them that there is no water under this land but the river runs around the mountain. Nevertheless Jacob says basically this is where God told us to go and dig the well. They strike water and the rest is history. But Jacob made a very striking comment

He told the landowner “we didn’t choose God he chose us.”

That simple phrase has really resonated my spirit over the last couple of days.

John 15:16 you did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the father in my name, he may give it to you!

Jeremiah 1:5 before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you, I appointed you a prophet to the Nations.

Isaiah 43:10 you are my Witnesses, declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no God was formed, nor shall there be any after me.

2nd Thessalonians 2:13 but we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the first fruits to be saved, through sanctification by the spirit and belief in the truth.

Matthew 22:14 for many are called but few are chosen

Are you doing life because you chose him?

Are you living because he chose you?
