Renew your mind renew your marriage

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

There is a lot of meat in chapter 8 of “Unwanted” so yes I am still there. Here’s a quote that really hit home in a different way. I never put Romans 12:2 and marriage together before like it is shown here.

Marriage will expose that our minds are far more broken than we could have ever conceived. But more importantly, it gives us opportunities to renew our minds.

Marital faithfulness is not predicated on the absence of failure but on the persistent commitment to renewing our minds.

The choice to repent creates the possibility for personal integrity and relational growth to occur. The more we recognize our need for Jesus, the more we will grow.

Could this mean staying in the word and Renewing Your Mind is good for marriage?

Now isn’t that a great concept. Not only are you improving your relationship with Jesus as you renew your mind but also your marriage.

  1. Love this!
Here is some thing the Lord really laid on me in the month of April… I kept wondering why I just didn’t feel “close“ to Him, even in the midst of the Covid crap we having more time to spend with Him, and then I happened to read over 1Peter 3:7. It was like a lightbulb came on, I could almost hear him saying “stop worrying about being close to me for a second and make sure you are close with your wife. Take a look at that relationship”. Long story short, I wasn’t. And this was right in the middle of her and I leading a marriage class at church… When I talked to Christina about it, and I started being more intentional my quiet time with God started to click also! Definitely something I have to keep thinking about daily!
    Thanks,
