The encounter

I decided to stop by Academy the other day to buy more workshirts. I had not been at this Academy in 5 or 6 years . Naturally I didn’t think anything about about it. Wasn’t thinking about a divine appointment

1 Peter 3:15 (ESV) 15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

What happened next was not something I was really prepared for in fact when I saw him, I wanted to just turn my back and walk away. Let’s be honest here when we see a homeless person in the store most of the time we probably go down the other aisle. When you see the guy or lady on the street corner holding a sign what is your first thought?

I remember seeing this guy and thinking he is on drugs and he is tweaking and homeless. I felt sorry for him and then we made eye contact He said he needed to go to court in two days and he needed some new shoes . My first thought was leave me alone I’m in a hurry . That didn’t go over very well. I said OK and we went to the shoe area and I bought a pair of shoes for him. While we’re in the checkout line he wanted me to buy a bus ticket and few other things. And in my mind I’ve kind of got this bad attitude but I said go ahead and I ended up spending almost a $110 on him And I still didn’t know his name. We got to the parking lot and I asked him his name and I told him that Jesus loved him and I asked if I could pray for him and he said absolutely. When I was through praying, he then prayed for me.

Brian didn’t have a penny to his name but he loved Jesus. ❤

When we were through praying he quickly showed me his worn out tattered Bible that he carried around in his 2 target plastic bags. He didn’t hardly have anything to his name but he for sure had his Bible. All he wanted was someone to listen to him.

When I left, I asked Holy Spirit what was that all about?

Remember who you are, life can change in a heartbeat always look to me.

That whole situation just broke me, When I called my wife I was in tears. I was very humbled

Jehovah-Jireh – The Lord is my provider.

Jehovah – Rohi – The Lord is my shepherd I shall not be in want (lack) He makes me lie down in green pastures He leads me beside still waters. Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding

My bad attitude in my mind turned into a divine appointment and this guy got some new shoes his name is Brian

  1. Amazing encounter! You and Brian are both sons and therefore “brothers”… in as much as too did it for Brian, you did it for Jesus. 🙏🏾
