Unity through diversity

I just got back from the John Maxwell International Maxwell certification conference in Orlando Florida. I have to tell you I feel like I just got off a quest. I got rocked, over the next few days I will probably share a few things. What I want to share with you is what happened to me today.

Matthew 22:37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

I went into Lowe’s to buy some material. I actually went through a set of doors that I never go through. The cashier working was Muslim and wearing a burka. I looked at her and I smiled and asked her how she was doing? She said she was doing great and I walked on by and proceeded to get my material. Normally I would be thinking some pretty not nice things about her and her religion. But I thought about JMT DNA which is what John Maxwell is all about.

You read the scripture earlier about loving the Lord your God, and just as important loving your neighbor. That part often times it’s difficult to do especially if your neighbor is of the Muslim religion.

While I’m getting my material, I just hear in my spirit look at her and tell her that you see greatness in her!

I went up to the counter and paid for my materials and then I leaned over and I looked at her and I smiled and I said “I see greatness in you.” She smiled and was borderline tearing up. 7 days ago I would have avoided her on the way in and I would have avoided her on the way out.

Something has changed and I like it.

If you want to know anything about the John Maxwell team drop me an e-mail.

Be blessed today and love your neighbor.
