Good Deeds

Ephesians 6:8 it is a well-known fact that it is impossible for Good Deeds to go unnoticed. It makes no difference whether someone is free or a Slave; every single Good Deed equally enjoys the favorable attention of the Lord. (we already enjoy God’s favorable attention before we have done anything to deserve it. Our good works are now an expression of that and not an attempt to win his approval.) The Mirror

There is a part of us that wants attention, when we do something good, we want to be recognized because it makes us feel good.

I would also say that there are times when doing something good and being recognized is all about Us, we want to be seen, we want to be heard.

Look at me! Look what I just did to help this person!

What I love about this passage is it literally give permission to do something good and not be recognized by man, because your heavenly father is going to see it anyway and that’s really all that matters, isn’t it?

I would like to submit to you that the next time you do something good for somebody ask yourself what is my motive?

Matthew 6:6 but when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your father who is in secret. And your father who sees in secret will reward you. ESV
